Keep the Original Product Link When You Switch Buying Agents

A product link can look completely different after another service opens or converts it. Save enough information to recognize the same item before you make the switch.

A converted link may hide the page you started from.

You may copy a product from a spreadsheet, paste it into another buying service, and land on a page with a new domain and a longer URL. The product can still be the same, but the new address no longer tells you where the listing originally came from.

Before converting anything, save the marketplace address and a short description of the item. If the new page shows a different color, size, seller, model, or set of included parts, you will have something concrete to compare.

Keep a four-part note when the address changes.

01

Raw source

Save the unchanged Taobao, Weidian, 1688, Yupoo, or other source URL when it is visible.

02

Expected item

Write the product type, color, size, model, and included parts you meant to open.

03

New destination

Keep the converted or service-specific URL in a separate field rather than replacing the source.

04

Any mismatch

Note changed images, options, prices, seller clues, or a page that no longer opens.

Check the product again after conversion.

  1. 1

    Read the new domain.

Confirm which service or marketplace opened.

  2. 2

    Match the item and option.

Compare the current title, images, color, size, version, and included parts with your saved note.

  3. 3

    Review the evidence again.

The new address does not automatically carry over QC photos, measurements, seller context, or shipping information.

  4. 4

    Record what you cannot match.

If the item or option is unclear, move it out of the shortlist until you can identify the correct source.

Stop and compare

Do not force a new page to match the old row.

If the product image, option, seller clue, or included parts no longer line up, keep the old record and mark the new destination as a possible alternative. Review it as a new candidate instead of attaching old photos or measurements to a different item.
